Review: ‘Throne of Glass’ by Sarah J. Maas

As I’ve said before, this book was referred to me by another blogger on Goodreads. And I’m glad it was.

Even though I’ve just started reading ‘The Rose Society’ (after having finished ‘Throne of Glass’ this morning), I so wish I had the sequel to ‘Throne of Glass’ instead. No offense, Marie Lu, I love your writing, but this book was just amazing.

Anyway, it was nice to see a hero who was also sort of a villain (again, Marie Lu, if you’re reading this, I know the main character in ‘The Young Elites’ is sort of a villain, just shh…). And romance. Even though it’s not even working at the moment. I’m just a sucker for a good love story. Especially when it really takes some work, like in ‘Throne of Glass’.

All in all, this book was great. It captured my attention, though in some ways it’s reminiscent of ‘The Selection’ by Kiera Cass. Yes, I know Kiera Cass’ novels didn’t revolve around an assassin, so calm down.

In conclusion, if you’re looking for an interesting read that has romance, but not too much romance, action, fantasy, and a badass protagonist, I recommend ‘Throne of Glass’.
